Games Analysis: Mon Sept 29 - Keyword Abilities Research

 Today we had another block to work on the Keyword Abilities Research in preparation for our presentations next day. Those who finished a bit early got a chance to learn Ticket-To-Ride.

Games Analysis: Friday Sept 26 - Quest Catch-up & Play time!

 Today we talked about the plan for next week, and then you had some time to finish up any quests you still had from this week before you had a chance to play some games!

Games Analysis: Wed Sept 24 - Quests and Abilities

 Today we had a look at our first Reason Quest. Then we had a look at "Evergreen Abilities" and broke into colours to discuss strategy for (and against) those colours. After break we had a look at the 2 Dice Probabilities Quest (here is the spreadsheet) and the Keyword Abilities Quest.

Games Analysis: Tues Sept 23 - Finish up Probability

 Today we finished up the probability notes and examples we started yesterday. After some time to practice (hand it in when you have completed what you want for XP); after that, you had a chance to play your starter decks again.

Games Analysis: Mon Sept 22 - MtG Colours, Formats, & Probability

 Today we spent some time looking at the different Colours of MtG, both in their emphases and combinations. Then we spent some time looking at the different sets and formats that exist within MtG. We ended off with an initial look at Probability - we'll pick up with it next day.

Games Analysis: Wed Sept 17 - Catan Tournament!

 Today we did the Catan Tournament quest! Based on the results, you got to pick your Magic half decks; bring them next class!

Games Analysis: Mon Sept 15 - Catan Strategies and practice

 Today we did some more work on Catan! We watched this video about how many options there are for the board, and then we talked through the main strategies for Catan we saw last week. To end off, you had some Initial Placement practice.

Games Analysis: Thurs Sept 11 - Play a Rainbow and Catan Intro

 Today you had more time to play more matches of Magic! You've been working to finish off the Play a Rainbow Quest (many of you did). After that we spend some time on Catan Strategy. Here are the Strategies we looked at!

Games Analysis: Tues Sept 9 - Practice MtG games

 Today we worked through a scripted game of Magic, and then you got to try some of the "mini" decks you'll get to choose from soon. You also received the Play Everyone Quest (Gotta Catch 'Em All!) and the Play a Rainbow Quest. We'll carry on with this tomorrow!

 Today you learned the basic rules of Magic, we worked through a demo game, and then you got a chance to have a look at some of the cards you'll have access to... soon...!

Games Analysis: Fri Sept 5 - MtG intro!

 Today we revisited Tic-Tac-Toe to see what you should do if your opponent doesn't play optimally, and then we had a look a bit at what Magic the Gathering is. We watched a short video explanation, and then you got to sort through a bunch of cards to see what information there is on them.

Games Analysis: Thurs Sept 4 - Analyzing Tic Tac Toe!

 Today we played our first Game! We started by discussing, "What is a Game?" then we looked a bit at how we can be Thoughtful and Thorough to analyze games. You played some Tic-Tac-Toe and then we broke it down in depth to see what the options for moves are and what the optimal strategy is. Games Analysis: Tues Sept 3 - Course Outline & XP names

 Today we worked through an intro to the course by going over the course outline (don't forget to get your XP for getting it signed!). We discussed the freedom and constraints you have in pursuing learning in this course and what you should be more like by the end of the course. We also went through what your journal entries should look like, and picked out your names for the XP Spreadsheet.
