Sci 9: Mon Mar 31 - Metric Conversions

 Today we watched a quick recap of what we learned before break with Static Electricity (up to 5:40). had a look at how to do Metric Conversions. We did some examples and notes and then you had some time to work on some practice.

Chem 11: Mon Mar 31 - Unit 4 Intro

 Today we did an intro to Unit 4: Chemical Reactions. Then we did a refresher on how to Balance Chemical Equations. You then had practice on pgs. 110-112 #7-56.

Chem 11: Fri Mar 14 - Moles Test

 Today you wrote the Unit 3: Moles test (and we celebrated Pi day!).

Sci 9: Fri Mar 14 - Finish Lab work & Static Assignment

 Today, after your QQQ, we had time to work on the lab from last day (and any other missing work). Then you had time to work on the Static Electricity Assignment on pg. 298 # 1 - 7 & 14.

Sci 9: Thurs Mar 13 - Insulators, Conductors, Shocks, and Lab

 Today we discussed some Definitions (Insulator, Conductor, Semi-conductor, and Ground). Then we looked at how the Van De Graff generator works to build up charge (ZAP!). After break, you worked on Lab 9A on pg. 292 - 293 (due after Spring Break).

Chem 11: Wed Mar 12 - Lab 4B

 Today you made copper atoms out of copper ions! You performed Lab 4B (Moles of Iron and Copper). After break we wrapped up the lab and went to an assembly.

Chem 11: Tues Mar 11 - Review Time

 Today we had another block of review time to work on the review assignment (and any other work you've got). Lab experiment tomorrow!

Sci 9: Tues Mar 11 - Static visuals and Electrostatic Series

 Today we had a look at some Visuals of Static Charging. Then we finished off the notes from last day about how to use an "electrostatic series." We finished off with you having some time to work on Pg. 278 #1,4,5,7,10 and Pg. 281 #1,4,5,7,10.

Chem 11: Mon Mar 10 - Unit 3 Review Time

 Today we did a quick recap of Unit 3. Then you had time to work on the Unit 3 Review Assignment (due Wed!).

Sci 9: Mon Mar 10 - Unit 2: Electricity Intro

 Today we started off Unit 2: Electricity. We discussed the main parts of the unit (electric charges and electric circuits), and then we took some notes on Electric Charge (we only completed up to and including the table - we'll finish the last bit tomorrow). We also looked at a couple illustrations of static electricity: John Travoltage! and Balloons!

Chem 11: Fri Mar 7 - Empirical Formulas

 Today we hit our last topic for Unit 3 -> Empirical Formulas. After your QQQ today, we took some notes, and then you had a few minutes to practice (pg. 93 #46). You also received the Unit 3 Review Assignment a little early in case you're bored this weekend.

Sci 9: Tues Mar 4 - Review Time!

 Today we went over the key things to include in your Lab Conclusion (Chemical Change Lab). Then you had time for the Review Assignment (due at the end of class tomorrow!).

Chem 11: Tues Mar 4 - Moles assignment & You Assignment

 Today you had loads of work time! You were encouraged to get ready for the Moles Assignment (due Friday), and then you had time to work on it. After that, I told you a bit of who I am and gave you the You Assignment (due Monday).

Chem 11: Mon Mar 3 - Multiple Mole Conversions

 Today we put everything from Unit 3 (so far...) together in Multiple Mole Conversions. This is such a fundamental concept that we're going to spend lots of time practicing it: Pg. 86 #22-24. Pg. 88 #35-40, 41 (i & k only), 42-43.
