 Today we had a look at how small atoms are. After that, we worked through this powerpoint on the Standard Model of Particle Physics (with these fill in the blank notes). After that, we watched this video on the Standard Model.

Sci 8: Mon Oct 28 - Build and Atom.

 Today we talked about what's inside atoms. Then you did the Building an Atom activity. Afterwards, we took some notes to summarize and then tried the game part of the simulation.

 Today we had a look at Density! You read pgs. 260 - 265, then we took some summary notes, and you practiced some calculations with questions 1 - 5 on pg. 269.

 Today we started the Phase Changes Project to give you a way to process and communicate what we've been learning. We'll have at least one more class with the computers to work on it.

Today we read through Sec 7-1 in the textbook (pgs. 246-249 & 252-253). After that we worked through Lab 7-4 on pg. 256. Please have the graph and "What did you find out?" questions done, so that we can work on the conclusion next class. 

Sci 8: Tues Oct 15 - Unit 3 Matter Intro

 Today we went over the answers to your Unit 2: Disease and Immunity Test (see me if you are taking a re-test). After that we did an intro to Unit 3: Matter; we had a look at some demos to wrap our heads around how partricles behave and how big they are.

Sci 8: Fri Oct 11 - Unit 2 Test

 Today we corrected the Unit 2 Review Assignment, and then you wrote the Unit 2 Test.

  Today we had lots of project time for you to wrap up your work, particularly the PPT Skills project. You may have also started the You Assignment.

 Today we did a bunch of review activities. Here's the concept Map Assignment and Unit 2 Review Assignment. We also watched a few videos to give us visuals of the immune system: Tetanus, Smallpox, and Immune System Overview.

 Today after typing and QQ, we talked about YOUR project management in this course. Then you had lots of time to work on your PowerPoint Skills project.

Sci 8: Tues Oct 8 - When the Immune System Needs Help

 Today we finished up our work from last day by working through questions #1 - 20 on pg. 109. We also watched this video on how antibodies work. Towards the end, we took these notes and watched this video on how vaccines work.

 Today we worked through the Lines of Defence in your body. We discussed Airport Security measures and then you found connections to the immune system while you read pgs. 100 - 105. After that we took these notes.

 Today we didn't do QQQ #4, but we'll add to it and do it next week. We watched Ted-Ed videos on Germ Theory, Microorganisms in us, and Using Microbes to make food. Then we took some notes on Pathogens.
